Life is rolling on quite well at the moment. It's June already!
Tawhai's sore throat has come back and it seems to be a bit worse this time. His throat was swabbed again for strep, and his tonsils have been checked. They are not swollen.
So he's needed just that extra bit of tender loving care for the past few days. He's sitting next to me, watching Batman videos as I type and listen (quietly) to Turbonegro.

I also decided that this week, I would clean out the office. And try to make it look halfway to decent. It was a flipping mess before.
Here's some webcam photos that I have turned into simple diagrams. I should be a cricket commentator.

It was a horrible junk room of a place, windows were blocked up by bad furniture choices, the curtains blocked out the light. Total Ugh.  Toys everywhere, a disconnected turntable, cds lying around.... grumpy cats, you get the picture.

So I got to cleaning it out and moving furniture around.  I may or may not have stopped to check wig growth.

And just like that - it's done!
I've brought some things back Inside, that had been banished into the Shed. CDs from out of the wardrobe, photos out of their files...
I am very happy indeed, Blackadder!

Proof of the happy! And my skill at making giraffe hand puppets.
No, I don't spend all my time in here swinging around on my chair.  Not at all!

Tawhai has developed a nice little cough today, but says his throat no longer hurts. He doesn't ask about the end of the world anymore, after I gave him this explanation

Choice. :)

That is some awesome Martha Stewart like skillz you have!

How much to have you come reorganise my life?

haha, thanks!

It would take quite a lot for me to head up there and organise your life! Probably easier for me to do it, as I am quite the sentimental fool and tend to hang on to stuff.

Well if our savings weren't already earmarked for building this addition... ;)

It's mainly toys I think. And maybe some crap that I can't let go of, or have forgotten exists. We have a HUGE garage with no driveway access, so in theory we should have heaps of storage. But the garage is a mess and I can't see it being organised any time soon.

Your office looks great though. You've done some good things de-cluttering and reorganising the family home. Nice one Mel!

Cheers Kat! I had a real clutter bomb to deal with. A lot of clearing out meant getting rid of toys (both of ours) and clothes.</p>

That's where the local Sallies/Seekers/Red Cross comes in handy. Everything that was still in good condition went there. I hate throwing things out, I like to think someone else could make good use of them.

I donated a computer to the Kohanga too.

Same! I have major issues with dumping stuff. Partly the landfill issue, partly the fact that someone will often appreciate our old things.
Gutted that we've left the couch a bit too long to pass on. It's a bit fucked and beyond threadbare. Not sure how I'll cope with chucking that.

I've a lot of stuff needs giving away. Just got to get around to taking it down and sorting through again to make sure everything's in good nick.

Good for the soul, having a clean out.

It sure is. I'm loving it. Take a deep breath, let it all go.
You should have seen me get rid of my old goth clothes... I guess I can always make/buy new ones, but still. Pout! Hehe.

Maybe you could photograph your couch and post it on FB - someone might want it for their porch or shed? Or you could use it as a shed couch?

Pretty sure if you posted about FREE STUFF people would be keen to take it off your hands. I've never actually tried that, haha!
